The Chilkat Valley News provides professional reporting on the issues that matter to the residents of Haines, Klukwan and the Upper Lynn Canal. They’ve been in publication since 3-JAN-1966, and the independent newspaper of record. They publish 50 weeks a year and take an annual winter break.

KYUK News

KYUK serves the rural Alaska and Alaska Native population of their region and responds to issues that affect the people of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. KYUK is an NPR-member public radio station, broadcasting in English and Yup’ik on KYUK-AM, KYUK-FM and online at KYUK.org. KYUK also operates a public television station.

Francisco was the News Reporting Fellow from NOV-2022 through JAN-2024. It was in Bethel where he got his start in radio journalism. Although he was a general assignment reporter, he found success in crime and courts, local politics, and sports reporting.
